Marathons in January 2027

January is when marathon season moves south. While much of the country is in deep winter, the calendar shifts to warm-weather courses: the fast, flat Houston Marathon mid-month, the Carlsbad Marathon along the Southern California coast, and desert road races around Phoenix. It's a popular month for a winter goal race after a fall training build, or a first marathon trained through the holidays.‍
