Marathons in February

February marathons favor the Sun Belt. Surf City opens the month on the Huntington Beach coastline, the Mesa Marathon runs a net-downhill course east of Phoenix, and Texas has two anchors: the Austin Marathon and Fort Worth's Cowtown, held the last weekend of February since 1978. Cool mornings and mild afternoons make it one of the best months to chase a PR in the Southwest.‍
