COURSE
Marathon (26.2-miles) & Half-Marathon (13.1-miles):
Circles Sunriver Resort on widely paved very scenic
bike paths. Marathoners will receive their Half-Marathon
split when traveling through the Athlete Village, before
heading out on the second loop of this beautiful scenic
course that will take you through meadows and forests,
past rivers, and beautifully landscaped golf greens
and summer homes.
NOTE:
The Marathon is
a Boston Marathon qualifier.
MP3 PLAYERS / IPODS / PORTABLE MUSIC DEVICES:
Music devices will be allowed for use on the
run course portions of all of the Pacific Crest events,
but only one earbud may be used (for participant safety).
This applies only to Pacific Crest, but not to the
other multisport events owned by AA Sports, Ltd.
HYDRATION STATIONS & PORTA POTTIES: Aid stations
with water and Gleukos electrolyte drink will be located
approximately every mile and at the finish line. Fluids
will be kept in cooling containers with ice prior
to dispensing. Porta Potties will be located approximately
every mile. Clif Shot energy gel will also be available
at select run course aid stations.
MARKING: The run course will be marked with
white lime & pink directional signs (8 1/2" x 11")
mounted on 48" wooden stakes. There will also be course
marshals and/or Police at all necessary intersections
where vehicle traffic may be found. Each mile will
be marked with a mileage sign. The Run course will
be marked by Thursday morning (including mile markers).
COMMUNICATIONS: Every hydration station on
the run course will have radio communication with
the finish line and the Run Course Managers. If you
cannot finish the race for any reason, please notify
the closest hydration station, or report it to the
finish line. If you do not finish, please make sure
that you return your Timing Chip to the finish line.
THE START
Runners
& Walkers for both the Marathon and Half Marathon will
gather in the Athlete Village (the official finish line)
prior to the race. There will be music as well as water
and electrolyte. Pre-race briefings will be given 20
minutes prior to each race start. At the conclusion
of the briefing all the athletes will move to the start
line, as a group, located approximately 0.6 miles away.
THE FINISH
Runners and Walkers will finish the race at the Sunriver
Village Mall (Athlete Village) within the midst of the
enthusiastic crowd enjoying the finish line festivities
which includes a Health & Fitness Expo and live
entertainment from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Post race
refreshments will be provided and the Awards Ceremony
for the Marathon/Half-Marathon will begin at at 12 Noon.
A Saturday evening entertainment is scheduled at the
Athlete Village starting at 4:00 p.m. The Long Course
Triathlon/Endurance Duathlon Awards ceremony will take
place at 4:00 pm and the entertainment and party will
then continue from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
SOME NOTES:
- Remember to bring adequate
clothing, as the temperatures can vary from 38 to
90 degrees midnight to mid-day.
- Remember we are guests of
Central Oregon and Sunriver Resort. Please respect
the area by not littering or defacing property (which
includes not painting words of encouragement on the
roads and bike paths).
- Remember to pick up your race
packet, which includes your Timing Chip, at packet
pickup on Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.
or on Saturday, beginning at 6:00 a.m. in the Athlete
Village (official finish line).
- Sign your kids up for the
Splash-Pedal-n-Dash which will be held on Friday night
at 4:00 p.m. in the Athlete Village!
- The Marathon/Half-Marathon
is held in conjunction with the Pacific Crest Long
Course Triathlon (TRI Northwest Long Course Championship)
and Pacific Crest Endurance Duathlon. The Tri &
Du events begin at Wickiup Reservoir, and finish on
the same marathon/half-marathon course. These athletes
will begin finishing their event at approximately
1:00 p.m. These athletes have come from all over the
country to compete on this beautiful course.

LOST AND FOUND
Any equipment that is unmarked will be returned to the
finish line and handled by lost and found officials
for participants to claim. Please come to the event
with all personal belongings marked with your name and/or
race number. Lost and Found can be picked up at the
Volunteer Check-In building.
VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers, including spouses and other family members
of participants, or athletes that are unable to participate
are welcome and encouraged to help with the race. We
need good volunteers to maintain the quality and safety
