ABOUT
THIS EVENT
The Mid-Summer
Triathlon & Duathlon is part of a two-day event that
includes The LUNA Women's Triathlon/Duathlon and Kid's
Splash Pedal-n-Dash on Saturday, August 2nd. Both days
will consist of a festival of events including a Sport
& Fitness Expo, music, BBQ brunch, prizes, and most
of all fun and camaraderie.

NOTE: NO DOGS ARE ALLOWED
IN BLUE LAKE PARK.

Race
fee includes commemorative T-shirt, finisher medal,
day use park pass, ChampionChip Timing, awards and prizes,
BBQ Brunch, music, plus lots of fun and camaraderie.
High school students or participants 18 years & younger
may deduct $10 from the entry fee. TRI NorthWest members
may deduct $10 from the entry fee.
IN-PERSON - Participants can drop off registrations
to the AA Sports Office (computers are also available
for on-line registration) located at 4840 SW Western
Avenue, Beaverton, Oregon 97005.

MAIL-IN ENTRIES: Must be postmarked nine (9) days
prior to race day and sent to: Mid-Summer Triathlon,
c/o AA Sports, Ltd. 4840 SW Western Ave, Suite 400,
Beaverton, OR 97005. ON-LINE will close July 29th
to prepare for packet pickup.
REGISTRATION: On the www.racecenter.com website,
through a secured transaction. Deadline for on-line
registration is two days prior to race weekend.
CONFIRMATIONS: Confirmation cards will be mailed
on 7/28 to those pre-registered by 7/23. Participant
confirmations will also be posted on the www.racecenter.com
website for all mail-in and online entries. Those
registering after 7/22 may not receive a confirmation
card in the mail and are to refer to the on-line confirmation
list.

COURSE
Swim:
Triangular lake swim (water temperature in the 70's).
Bike (Triathlon & Duathlon):
Semi-closed (local traffic only) out-and-back on a
section of Marine Drive west of Blue Lake Park. The
Olympic distance races will also have a 7+ mile out-and-back
to the east of Blue Lake Park on Marine Drive, Sundial
and Graham Roads. This section is open to traffic,
but lightly traveled.
Run (Triathlon & Duathlon):
Flat and fast within Blue Lake Park and along the
Marine Drive bike path.
DETAILS
Race Results / Timing:
Timing
of the event will be done using the ChampionChip
Timing System. Participants must wear a Timing Chip
on their ankle in order to receive splits and final
results. If you own your own Chip, please provide
your seven-digit Chip code at the time you register.

Awards:
Will be presented to the Overall
Male & Female champions and Overall Masters Male
& Female champions (Overall and Masters champions
will be removed from the individual age division awards).
Awards will also be presented to the 1st thru 3rd
place finishers in each individual age division, as
well as the Open & Masters Clydesdale & Athena
divisions. The 1st and 2nd place teams in each relay
division will also receive awards.
Divisions:
Individuals: 12-14, 15-17, 18-19, 20-24, 25-29,
30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64,
65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & over. Clydesdale's (men
198 lbs & over) and Athena's (women 150 lbs & over)
in Open (39 & under) and Masters (40 & over) divisions.
Triathlon Relay Teams: (combined 3 ages) 105 &
under and 106 & over in Men's, Women's and Mixed
divisions.
Duathlon Relay Teams (combined 2 ages): 0-70, 71-90
& 91+ in men's, women's, and mixed divisions.
NOTE:
Awards Ceremony
will commence at the conclusion of the event and
winners must pick up their awards. Awards
will not be mailed.

WETSUIT
RENTAL
Need a Wetsuit? Sign up today and reserve yours with

While wetsuits are not mandatory, they are recommended.
A wetsuit will keep you comfortable in the water via
increased buoyancy and warmth.

MECHANICAL/BIKE SUPPORT
Bike
service will be on-site to provide repairs, parts,
and accessories.
GUESTS
Non-Participant Meal Tickets are available for purchase
at packet pickup.

LOST AND FOUND
Any equipment that is unmarked will be returned to
the lost and found officials for participants to claim.
Please come to the event with all personal belongings
marked with your name and/or race number.
VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers, including spouses and other family members
of participants, or athletes that are unable to participate
are welcome and encouraged to help with the race.
We need good volunteers to maintain the quality and
safety of this event. If you are interested in being
involved in this way, please call the AA Sports office

MASSAGE
Post Race Massage will be provided by The Massage
Clinic for $1.00 per minute. www.yourmassageclinic.com
MEDICAL
& FIRST AID
Dr. Tom Freedland and his staff
from the Western Chiropractic College will be on site
to provide chiropractic care, first aid, and massage
at no charge. For more information about the services

DIRECTIONS
TO BLUE LAKE
Blue Lake Park is located
15 miles east of downtown Portland, OR. Take I-84
east to the Fairview Exit (exit #14). Follow the
signs to Blue Lake Park.
PARK
PASS
All
cars must display a day-use pass on their dashboard.
At the park gate volunteers and pre-paid participants
will receive a pass at no cost, spectators and non-paid
participants must pay a $4.00 fee. The park gate
opens at 6:00am. NO PETS
ALLOWED IN THE PARK.
