CDA Triathlon
The Coeur d’Alene Triathlon and Duathlon is one of the most scenic races in the Pacific Northwest. The Olympic 1.5k swim is the only deep-water start that begins with a cruise ship ride out into the bay where athletes transfer to a barge where they enter the water, swim to the starting bouys and make their way back to shore. All this takes place on Lake Coeur d’Alene, a body of water that stretches 30 miles long and up to 3 miles wide. A 40k bike ride goes down Coeur d’Alene Lake Drive, a scenic route that follows Yellowstone Trail leading to a challenging uphill course. Finishing with the 10k run, the course follows the Centennial Trail along the Spokane River, ending with a triumphant finish line in the Coeur d’Alene City Park, where food, awards and a beer garden await.
