This rugged, remote and challenging 50K+ course is run entirely on single-track trails, circumnavigating Mt St Helens. All but 4.5 miles are run on the Loowit Trail. Racers travel over lava and pumice fields, cross rivers, run through the blast zone as well as through dense forest. In all, the course involves ~7400 ft of elevation gain and loss.
The 25K course covers the same route as the 50K to the first aid station (so you get to experience the boulder fields) and then you drop down on a really fun trail before cutting across the lower part of the mountain to get back to the finish. A big loop with lots of volcano views. 3200′ of gain and loss.
