Salem Summer Solstice 5k & 10k

The Willamette Valley Road Runners is hosting its annual evening race at Minto Brown Island Park Friday June 16th 2023. This is a family friendly event with perfectly flat courses and chip-timed races with immediate results and delicious ice cream sundaes available to all who participate!
The 10k starts at 7:00 pm and costs just $20 to register after June 1 for a chip timed race. The 5k starts at 7:10 pm and costs $15 to register after June 1. There is day of registration of $20 for both races and only cash or check’s written to WVRR Willamette Valley Road Runners is accepted night of the race. The race starts and finishes at the pavilion by parking lot # 3 in Minto Brown Park.
Strollers are permitted (roller blades, skateboards and dogs are not). Walkers are allowed in the 5k but the coarse timing and monitoring ends at 8:30pm – meaning everyone has 90 minutes to finish. All participants and volunteers are welcome to an ice cream sundae at the end of the race under the pavilion.
Day of race registration and race bib pickup starts at 6:00 pm night of the race.

Aid stations: One water station is provided for both races around mile point 1.25 for the 5k and 4.25 for the 10k.
Proceeds from the race benefit the McKay High School cross country team.
