Huckleberry Running Festival

The Huckleberry Half Marathon, 10K & 5K is one of the Pacific Northwest’s most beautiful courses. Stretching through the iconic and beautiful Mt. Hood National Forest with views of the Salmon River and old forest growth, the scenery is one to remember.

No need to worry about long lines, traffic, or parking when you come to the Huckleberry Half event. Easily grab your bib before the race starts and enjoy some coffee with your static stretching. Our two Bigfoot are there to snap a picture with you pre-Half Walk or Run. Even if it’s a tad chilly, you’ll warm right up and enjoy the shady running route and cool breezes.

Soak up the scenery as you walk or jog along with your friends and just enjoy having your health and using your legs. After you have conquered this challenge; it’s time to check your results and make sure to grab your finisher’s prize for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in every category! A little memento of your time up in Welches!

From there you may want to relax with some food, grab a photo with Bigfoot, stretch, and walk over to grab a beer at the Zig Zag Inn. We have live music and the bar extends to an outside patio for chatting and making a full morning of the event.

The course showcases the natural beauty of the Mt. Hood National Forest with views of the Salmon River, surrounding mountain peaks, old growth forests and more. From Welches Middle School race grounds you will explore country roads, beautiful neighborhoods, a pristine golf course, tranquil bridges, streams and lush forests. This journey will surely reward your hard work and its beautiful surroundings and abundant shade.
