Vancouver, WA Why Racing Events host a series of 12 events including running, triathlon, multisport and trail events throughout Oregon and Washington highlighting the stunning Northwest scenery. Their races vary in size from 1000-5000 participants and offer athletes of all ages and abilities, from the elite level to the back-of-the-packers, the chance to successfully complete a racing event. They have gained recent recognition for their “Kids race for Free” initiative and their partnerships with local non-profits boosting fundraising efforts at each of their events.
Why Racing opened registration for all of their 2020 events on November 1st while announcing a new partnership with Race Roster as their exclusive registration platform.
“We are so excited to be partnering with Race Roster” says founder of Why Racing events, Sherri McMillan. “Our team conducted an extensive analysis of current platforms and decided that Race Roster was the best fit for the direction of our company and to provide the best experience for our athletes.”
Race Roster was founded by a group of friends with combined interests in running, technology, and event management. After organizing their own 10K in 2010, it became apparent to the founders, that the running industry was in dire need of better technology. Since May of 2012, Race Roster has experienced rapid growth now working with nearly 5,000 organizers to grow, manage and execute on race day.
McMillan explains “There were many factors that resulted in our decision to partner with Race Roster. First, they are brilliant. When conversing with the brains behind Race Roster, it becomes very obvious that they are computer geeks who thrive on developing sophisticated technology that will enable us to grow our events and service our athletes better. Second, they are all athletes. They get our sport and they understand what race directors and our athletes want and need. In fact Brandon Laan, one of the Race Roster founders, attended our recent PeaceHealth AppleTree Marathon event and actually won it and set the course record. They walk (*run) their talk! Third, we spoke to many race directors who have switched over to Race Roster who reported that it was the best decision they have ever made and confirmed that the Race Roster customer service was second to none. We have already experienced that world-class customer service as we set up our events to launch for 2020. Their team has been working around the clock on weekends and holidays to help us get ready to launch. Last, I truly feel and trust that they have our best interests in mind. Race Roster feels like a true partner. It is obvious that they want us to succeed and believe ultimately that their success is based upon our company thriving. I can’t tell you how reassuring it is to have your registration platform, a key piece to the event experience, walking side-by-side with you to assure you don’t fail.”
McMillan continues “It comes down to trust, relationships, service and cutting-edge technology.”
It appears that Why Racing Events is positioned for a winning, Personal Best performance in 2020.
