Portland to Host New Long Course Triathlon in 2011

From Press Release –

AA Sports, Ltd. today announced the debut of the StumpTown Triathlon, which will be held on Labor Day Weekend – September 3-4, 2011. The inaugural event will take place at the storied Blue Lake venue just east of Portland, OR and will include a long course triathlon and duathlon on Saturday, along with a sprint triathlon, Tri-iT (novice) triathlon and an Olympic triathlon and duathlon on Sunday.

The long course triathlon swim will be a two-loop course at Blue Lake, and is the first long course event that has been held at this location. The bike route for the long course triathlon will include three loops on a semi-closed course (local traffic only) making this one of the most spectator-friendly long course venues in the region. The bike and run courses for all of the StumpTown events are predominantly flat making them well-suited for those athletes looking to set a new PR, and a great tune up for the late-season iron-distance triathlons in Hawaii, Florida and Arizona.
