Portland Retailer Foot Traffic to Open Fourth Store in March 2012

From Press Release –

Foot Traffic, Oregon’s Running & Walking stores, is VERY excited to announce plans to open their fourth retail location at 7718 SE 13th Ave. in the heart of the Sellwood/Moreland neighborhood. This will be the specialty running, walking, and footwear company’s fourth store in the Portland Metro area. The store will feature what is suspected to be the nation’s only 9.5 foot, 2,500 pound running Sasquatch chainsaw carving, made out of a single giant Cedar tree. The first unveiling of this locally crafted permanent art installation will take place on their grand opening date of March 24th. The store will also feature a 30-foot-wide map of the Oaks Bottom trails and the Springwater Corridor.

The retailer feels the atmosphere, activity, and layout of the Moreland/Sellwood neighborhood is a perfect fit for their community-based business model. Store co-owner, Sean Rivers, is excited about the opportunity to add another positive dimension to the Sellwood/Westmoreland/Eastmoreland/Milwaukie neighborhoods. “Foot Traffic was founded on hyper-local, community-first business practices and we can’t wait to start giving back to the neighborhood. And with the Springwater Corridor, Oaks Bottom and, Westmoreland Park all nearby, this is one of our staff’s favorite areas to go for a run!”

Whether it’s training programs for beginners, youth coaching for children, all-comer track meets for all ages, or directing competitive, certified half marathons and road races, Foot Traffic will have something for ANY and ALL abilities of runners and walkers in the Southeast Portland area. Their primary goal is to encourage community-togetherness via an active, healthy lifestyle, regardless of experience. It is through these active & collaborative methods that Foot Traffic has been able to raise and give back nearly a half million dollars to the community since they opened their first store. It is their hope that they can continue this outreach and involvement within the Southeast Portland community.
