Oregon Track Club Preview Runs to Offer Preview of 2011 Eugene Marathon Course

The Oregon Track Club and Eugene Marathon are teaming up for the second year in a row to provide runners and walkers with a chance to test out the Eugene Marathon course before the May 1st event. The Preview Runs will take place the first Sunday of March and April at 8AM and are free to all participants.

“The Oregon Track Club Preview Runs were a huge hit last year for the runners and walkers” says Tate Kelley, Eugene Marathon Information Director, “we had close to 300 total runners participate last year and we hope everyone takes advantage of this great free opportunity again this year.”

Eugene Marathon and OTC representatives will be on hand to coordinate the runs. The runs are non-competitive with no times or awards given. All runs will start at 8AM outside Hayward Field, on the corner of Agate and 15th. Water and Gatorade will be provided at the start, finish and at one aid station along the route.

3/6: 9.25 or 13.1 miles, previews: Eugene streets/University neighborhood and Franklin, Autzen Footbridge

4/3: 13 or 15 miles, previews: Franklin Blvd and Springfield; and Alton Baker Park and final 10 miles of Marathon course
