Portland, Oregon April 1, 2016 – What do you usually do for Father’s Day? Perhaps you have a backyard BBQ? Maybe you just relax and watch TV with the old man? Just a phone call!? However you celebrate Father’s Day, this year try something different: the Grateful Dad Half Marathon, 10k, and kid’s half miler. Join Terrapin Events on Saturday June 18th for the best Father’s Day celebration in town.
Perfect for the whole family, the Grateful Dad has everything you could ask for in a race.
First off is the course! It is a scenic run along the Columbia River waterfront with amazing views of the Cascade mountain range and Mt. Hood standing prominent in the distance. The course is great for runners of all skill levels (the route is flat and fast), making it a great race for first time half marathon runners or experienced runners looking to set a personal record.
Second is the race management. The race is chip timed and pacers will be available to help runners maintain a steady time throughout their race. Excellent course management with great volunteers and water / aid stations located approximately every two miles will ensure you have plenty of energy along the way. Bike medics will ride along the course ensuring runners get through the race safely.
Third is the post-race party! Like all Terrapin post-race parties, this one will be great! Included is beer by Lagunitas Brewing. cider by Two Towns Ciderhouse, juice by Suja, a grateful family feast, tons of samples from all of our great sponsors, live music and much more!
Last but not least, you get to run with dear ole dad, and bring home some very cool commemorative paraphernalia. Commemorative shirts are available for runners who register before May 31st and an awesome Grateful Dad finisher medal is given to all participants (see our website to view this sweet looking medal).
Early bird registration is already full, but there is still limited space available for each distance. Register today to secure your place in the race!
