Looking at what races to run this fall? Fall is a great time to run a trail race!
The Molalla River Trail Race takes place October 17th, 2015. 100% of the race takes place on a beautiful multi-use (hiker, horse, and bike) trail system in the Molalla River Corridor. This race has a 5K and 10K option, and has added a half marathon option for the first time. There is 150 person cap per distance (450 total), and each distance will have their own start time.
While racing in any race is an exhilarating experience. Trail racing only enhances that experience. Being out in nature, running fast with other people through double and single track trails, and conquering whatever the trail has for you that day. Fall is a beautiful time in the corridor with the leaves turning, and if the weather brings rain that time of year mud simply adds to the excitement.
The race provides shuttles from Molalla to the trail head with all the needed facilities. There is about a 1/3 of a mile hike up a hill to the starting line, aid stations throughout the courses, medals for all finishers, post-race food, and beanies for all participants.
The longer distances have challenging elevation profiles, with lots of ups and downs throughout the course. So be well trained when you come to the race.
The race is also chip timed so each participant will receive an actuate time on the course. There are tent camping options available for the weekend very close to the trail head so you can make a weekend of it. However, you also need to pre-register for camping during the registration process.
