· Congratulations to all the Age Group and Division winners and to anyone who crossed the finish line.
· Full results can be found at http://whyracingevents.com/event/829/#past-events-results-photos
· Congrats to our youngest athlete Elizabeth Carter – 9 years old – she is the future of our sport! And to our oldest competitors Tom Seddon and Paul Ash, both 70 years young.
· Special Kudos to the Why Racing BEASTS who raced on both days. Super impressive especially with that heat.
· We also love to see all the Relay Teams doing the event together…there were father/daughter, mother/daughter, father/son, husband/wives, friends’ teams and more.
· Although we enjoy watching all the fast competitors, probably one of the most special moments of the day was when Sara Crane crossed the finish line and just burst into tears causing all of us to do the same. It’s a reminder of WHY we do what we do. Crossing the finish line demonstrates all the hard work and determination, overcoming obstacles and will forever change you.
Volunteers: We are biased but we are convinced we have the best volunteers and Why Racing Event Crew on the planet! Love them all and thank them for their time, serving, and caring personality.
· There is absolutely no way we could have pulled this event together without the support from our Sponsors. So please join us in thanking Deschutes Brewery * KIND Snacks * Franz Bread * Athletes Lounge (Bike Tech/Bike Support) * Golazo *Clark Furniture Moving * RaceCenter NW * Northwest Personal Training * Star Productions * Why Racing Events Inc. and the various vendors.
· The event helped support many school clubs and athletic teams and we were able to donate all the leftover food to Sharehouse.
