COURSE DESCRIPTIONS: (maps to come)

Swim: The swim will be off Dover City Beach in Lake Pend Oreille. Water temperature will be 68 - 70 degrees (wetsuits are optional). The olympic swim will be an ITU format of two loops at 750 meters each. At the end of loop #1 swimmers will exit the water and run approximately 20 yards on the sand and around a bouy prior to beginning loop #2. Sprint participants will swim one loop of the Olympic swim course. Tri-iT novice triathletes will swim a shorter 1/4 mile course.

Bike: The Olympic bike will be two loops on an out and back course on ID State HWY 2. The course is scenic with low traffic volume over rolling hills with a view of Lake Pend Oreille for most of the ride. Athletes will enter the Hwy at the intersection of 4th St and turn west towards Priest River. The bike TA Point is located just prior to Berry Lane at the 6.65 mile point. Loop #2 begins when you return back to 4th St at 12.48 miles into the ride.

The Sprint & Tri-iT Novice Triathlons will use the same bike course, but do only one loop before dropping back into Dover Bay Resort and the bike finish at the Transition Zone.

Run: The run is flat & fast on a combination of paved roads, well groomed trails and wooden bridges over the inlet. The Olympic 10K run will be two loops while the Duathlon Run #1, Sprint Triathlon & Tri-iT novice triathletes will run just one loop.
