I love marathons and the local one we have here is the Standard Chartered Bank Marathon scheduled for later this year. Charity marathons are always worthy causes as much as they are fun. Have a fun filled day!

I noticed the article about the Hagg Lake Triathlon coming up on its thirty year history. I am a part of both ends of that history, the 1982 event, and yesterday’s event. Question: Am I the only one that did Hagg lake in 1982 and 2011?

In 1982 I placed 58th overall; yesterday I won my age group (age 50) and placed 24th overall. I found the race results from 1982, but it is just the first page. With regard to the 1982 event, Dave Scott won, and as I remember, there were about 500 people in the event, the swim and run were longer at that time, and (if my memory serves me correctly) it was a mass swim start (!)

Just a little piece of triathlon nostalgia.
