Locals Win Rock ‘n’ Roll Portland Half Marathon

From Press Release – The second annual Rock ‘n’ Roll Portland Half Marathon came down to the wire, as Englishman Craig Hopkins and Aissa Dghoughi of Morocco were neck and neck through the final mile. Northwest Athletes Dominate USA Triathlon Long Course Duathlon National Championship

From USAT Press Release – Kimberly Pancoast and Rusty Pruden outdistanced the field to claim overall titles at Sunday’s USA Triathlon Long Course Duathlon National Championship, held in conjunction with the Mount Rainer Duathlon. Pancoast (Redmond, Wash.) won her first Long Course Duathlon national title in 2 hours, 18 minutes, 40 seconds on the 8.2-kilometer run, 46.5-kilometer bike, 6-kilometer run course, finishing 10 minutes ahead of the next closest competitor. Northwest Athletes Take Gold, U.S. Shines at ITU Age Group and Sprint World Championships

From USA Triathlon Press Release – Team USA ended its trip to Auckland on Monday with nine world titles at the 2012 ITU Age Group and Sprint World Championships, collecting a total of 25 medals on the final day of competition. Race Report: 2012 Black Diamond Long Course Triathlon

Submitted by Craig Dean – Saturday September 15 marked the 10th annual Black Diamond Long Course Triathlon.  Participants enjoyed near perfect conditions for both racing and spectating.  In all, 199 athletes completed the 70.3-mile long course triathlon with a few of the region’s usual suspects competing for the overall and age group titles. Northwest Talent Leads Team USA to Women’s World Mountain Running Championship Title

From Scott USA Press Release – Morgan Arritola of Ketchum, Idaho (USA) took the mountain running community by storm this weekend at the World Mountain Running Championships in Ponte di Legno, Italy, finishing 3rd overall in the women’s category with a time of 47:26. Hesch and Bak Take 2012 Oregon Wine Country Half Marathon Titles
