ABOUT THE EVENT

Swim is in the Columbia River; water temperature is 65-70 F. Wetsuits are permitted. Bike course has gentle hills. Run course is level along the Columbia River. There are 12 age divisions for each race (starting with 15 & under in 5 year increments - ie: 16 to 19 years) as well as Clydesdales and Athenas. No team entries in this race.

NEW - OLYMPIC DUATHLON & OLYMPIC TRIATHLON TEAMS
The Duathlon will be a Bike/Run format and will follow the same course as the Olympic Triathlon (50K Bike, 10K Run). Duathletes will start in pairs in time trial fashon AFTER the first Olympic Triathlete mounts their bike.

Olympic Triathlon teams may be comprised of two or three team members. Team swimmers will begin with the Olympic individual wave.

Pre-Race Packet Pick-up/Registration
Packet can be picked up at the race site on Friday evening from 5-7pm and on race morning beginning at 7am.

EVENT DISTANCES

Sprint Triathlon: 0.5K swim, 25K bike, 5K run
Olympic Triathlon: 1K swim, 50K bike, 10K run
Olympic Duathlon: 50K bike, 10K run

SWIM - triangle shaped course in the Columbia River SWIM CAPS ARE REQUIRED - will be provided for participants  
   

BIKE - HELMETS ARE REQUIRED
Sprint Course: Leaving Riverfront Park cross overpass > Left on Hwy 30 stay left > Pass Big Jim’s Drive In and Wheatacres > Turn around at Lower 8 Mile (watch for signs)

Olympic Course:Leaving Riverfront Park cross overpass > Left on Hwy 30 stay left > Pass Big Jim’s Drive In and Wheatacres > Follow Lower 8 mile (keep right) > To Emerson Loop counter clockwise back to Lower 8 mile and back to Riverfront Park

RUN - The out and back course follows the paved bike/walking trail west from Riverfront Park transition area. The Olympic course (10k run) is changed past the Sprint Course turn around, to follow new sections of the paved trail that is closer to the river. Restrooms are available at the 10K turn around.

CHAMPIONCHIP TIMING

All competitors will receive a Timing Chip in their race packet. You must wear the Chip on your shoe (per the instructions on the packet) if you want to receive your race time. Any participant who does not wear the Chip on their running shoe will not receive a finish result. Also, the Chip must be returned at the conclusion of the event or pay a $30.00 replacement fee (see Waiver). If you do not wish to be timed, feel free to give the Chip back to the volunteer when picking up your packet.

Unofficial race results will be posted at the finish line as the race is in progress. Official race results will be posted at www.racecenter.com within 48 hours of the race.

AWARDS

Awards will be presented, at the conclusion of the race, to the Overall Male and Female finishers, the top Master Male and Female finishers, as well as the top three male and female finishers in each age division of each race.

AGE DIVISIONS (Triathlon)
Individuals: 12 years & under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & over.

AGE DIVISIONS (Duathlon)
Individuals: 15 years & under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80 & over.

All Male, All Female or Mixed

POST RACE LUNCH

Join us for post race lunch. Additional lunches can be purchased for $10.

RACE PHOTOGRAPHY

Penrose Photography will provide finish line and course photography. Proofs will be on the website by Tuesday evening following the event (www.finishshots.com). To help capture the experience, you can order photos directly from Penrose Photography.

DIRECTIONS TO RACE SITE / PARKING INFO

Riverfront Park is located just off Exit 85 from I-84

Shilo Inn is located just east of the race site (Exit 86). Call 1-541-298-5502 for reservations.

PARKING ISSUE: PLEASE CARPOOL TO THE EVENT SITE IF YOU PLAN TO LEAVE BEFORE NOON.

Parking is extremely limited at the Boat Marina (to the West of the Event Site).

Park at Riverfront Park only if you plan to stay until approximately noon. Vehicle access in or out of the park is eliminated during the swim and bike portion of the event.

Once Race Preparation starts at 8:30, cars will not be allowed in or out until the last bike rider is in – generally 11:45 – Noon.
